Aurora Park at Geauga Lake is opening its first section on October 25, bringing visitors back to a property that was once a popular family destination in Northeast Ohio, with a restored pier, historic gatehouse pavilions and landscaped lawns forming part of the new park. The city acquired the lakefront property in December 2024 for $5.3 million, several years after the last attraction on the site, Wildwater Kingdom, closed in 2016. Since then, plans have been underway to make the lakefront accessible to the public again, with the first phase focusing on outdoor recreation and the restoration of some structures from the site's amusement park years. A playground, public beach and other recreational facilities are expected to follow in later phases. What visitors can expect at Aurora ParkImage source- Instagram/focusohioThe ...
