Ivory Coast delivered a thrilling spectacle on the final Group F day at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. Trailing 2-0 after just 21 minutes against already-eliminated Gabon, the Elephants turned the game around in the second half. In the round of 16, Ivory Coast will face Burkina Faso on January 6 in Marrakech.

Other sports news : Cameroon beat Mozambique 2-1 to finish second in Group F, and will face South Africa on January 4 in Rabat, while Mozambique faces Nigeria in Fes on January 5. Algeria secured a third win against Equatorial Guinea (3-1) with a rotated squad under Petkovic. They will meet DR Congo on January 6 in Rabat. Finally, Burkina Faso locked second place (2-0 vs Sudan) before facing Ivory Coast in last 16. Sudan, third, takes on Senegal on January 3 in Tangier.

In the NBA, the Spurs took revenge on the Knicks (134-132) with 36 points from Champagnie while Victor Wembanyama exited injured (31pts, 13rbs in 24'). Both teams hold 2nd in their conferences. Curry’s Warriors beat Hornets (132-125), Nuggets overcame Raptors (106-103) without Jokic, and Suns lost to Cavaliers (113-129) despite 30 points from Booker.
