An active shooter at a military airfield in the American state of Georgia has prompted a lockdown order. Reports suggest that two active shooters were active on Fort Stewart Hunter military base in Georgia prompting a lockdown order from the Commander of 3rd Infantry Division.
The order also includes Wright and Evans Army Airfield as well as local schools. Four people have been taken to the hospital and one suspect has been identified by law enforcement. Community Superintendent Brian Perry issued a statement to Kessler Elementary School, Murray Elementary School, and Diamond Elementary School which read: “Per DOD alert the commander of Fort Stewart has issued a lock down.

“Diamond, Kessler, and Murray Schools are all in a lock down at this time.
“There is no immediate threat to the schools at this time. We will send a message when an all clear is announced.”
Fort Stewart Hunter Army Airfield (FSHAA) Commander said on Facebook: “Lockdown your facility immediately, stay inside, close and lock all windows and doors. Keep telephone lines open and report accountability to your leadership,” FSHAA said on a Facebook post.
“As we remain in close contact with law enforcement on the ground, Marty, the girls, and I are saddened by today’s tragedy at Ft. Stewart."
The number of casualties are yet to be confirmed but reports suggest that the incident is being treated as a mass casualty situation.
A soldier currently locked down on the base said that as many as three shooters could have been involved in the attack, although these numbers are yet to be confirmed by law enforcement.
Kaden Keith said: "We are sheltered in place on Fort Stewart. Active shooter situation. We are hearing 3 shooters 11 injured."
More than 10,000 people, including soldiers, family members and Army civilian employees work and live on the base which is located around 43 miles southwest of Savannah.
Georgia Governor Brian Kemp said on X: “We are keeping the victims, their families, and all those who answer the call to serve in our hearts and prayers, and we ask that Georgians everywhere do the same.”
