A passenger bus and a truck collided on a highway in Minas Gerais, southeastern Brazil, on Saturday, resulting in 22 deaths, officials said.
The local fire department said that 13 others were taken to nearby hospitals in Teofilo Otoni.
The bus, which had departed from Sao Paulo and was carrying 45 passengers, reportedly had a tire blowout, causing the driver to lose control and crash into a truck. Firefighters said they have rescued 13 passengers from the wrecked bus so far.
A car with three passengers also collided with the bus, but all three passengers survived, the fire department said.
Rescue teams are still working at the scene, and more victims need to be removed.
