1954 Superman lunchbox sells for $31,980, beating its $20,000 estimate

A metal lunchbox from the early years of Superman merchandise has become one of the notable vintage toy sales of 2026. The 1954 Superman lunchbox, complete with its matching Thermos and protective case, sold for $31,980 at Morphy Auctions’ Toys & General Collectables sale in June. The price was well above the auction house’s high estimate of $20,000, as per Morphy Auctions. Its value was tied to more than the Superman name.
