Donald Trump even got late for his campaigning on Friday as he sat with Joe Rogan for three hours.
Donald Trump spoke to Joe Rogan for three hours on Friday for the Joe Rogan Experience discussing at length touching upon almost everything of Trump's life -- his first White House experience, his transition from business to politics, the 2020 election, the July assassination attempt and the recent Hitler comparison.
'I just do what's right'
"I do things that don’t necessarily make me so popular. I just do what’s right. “I understand what I’m doing. You make yourself a target, and it’s a very dangerous business. I never thought of that when I did it."
'It makes me a tougher guy'
Donald Trump spoke about the Butler assassination attempt and showed the scar he received from Crook's bullet. “It zicked right there,” he said of the mark behind his right ear. “It healed up pretty f–king good,” Rogan said. “It’s not like some of the wrestlers, some of the UFC fighters… it was sort of like a top shot. The thing’s taken off a little bit,” Trump continued. “But it makes me a tougher guy.”
Donald Trump said getting inside the White House for the first time was surreal but getting shot at was not. "When I was lying there, I knew exactly what was going on," Trump said.
On 2020 election
Donald Trump said the judges "didn’t have what it took to turn over an election” and repeated a few false claims, suggested that mail-in ballots were not secure and said that Democrats had “used Covid to cheat” in 2020.
'Is there life on Mars?'
Donald Trump said he had “never been a believer” in extraterrestrial life. But then he recalled that he had interviewed “solid” jet pilots who claimed to have seen “very strange” things in the sky. “There’s no reason not to think that Mars and all these planets don’t have life,” Trump said.
'You're not a Kamala person'
Donald Trump said like Elon Musk, Joe Rogan should also endorse him. “You should do the same thing Joe because you cannot be voting for Kamala. Kamala. You’re not a Kamala person. I know you," he said.
'Enemy from within'
America has no problem with North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, Trump said. “I say it to people, we have a bigger problem, in my opinion, with the enemy from within.” “It drives them crazy when I use that term (enemy from within),” Trump said. “We have an enemy from within, we have people that are really bad people, that I really think want to make this country unsuccessful.”
Biggest mistake of his presidency
Donald Trump said his biggest mistake during his time in the White House was hiring "bad people, or disloyal people". For example, he took the name of John Kelly who recently called Donald Trump a fascist and an admirer of Hitler. Trump said John Kelly is a bully. "I picked some people that I shouldn’t have picked.”
What do do with Russia-Ukraine
Donald Trump said he could negotiate an end to the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict. But he did not reveal any details. “If I told you exactly what I’d do, I could never make the deal,” Trump told Rogan.
'Don't believe too much in polls'
Trump said he does not believe too much in polls and he believed a lot of fraud goes in. “You know how polls are done?” Trump asked. “Oh, I’m going to get myself in trouble. So I really don’t believe too much in them.” Trump claimed that his pollsters once told him — shortly before the coronavirus pandemic upended his presidency — that if George Washington came back from the dead with Abraham Lincoln as his vice president, the two would not have been able to win against Trump.
On Kennedy Jr
Rogan asked Donald Trump whether he is completely committed to appointing Robert F Kennedy Jr to his administration. “Oh, I completely am. But the only thing I want to be a little careful about with him is the environmental. Because he doesn’t like oil. I love oil and gas," Trump said.
